Neben der Verbessererung der Suche nach ungültigen Registrierungsschlüsseln wurden einige Nerv-Maßnahmen ergriffen, welche schon in Windows Vista zum Einsatz kommen. Stellt die WGA-Prüfung eine illegale Windows-Kopie fest, wird der Desktop-Hintergrund jede Stunde zurückgesetzt bzw. schwarz gefärbt. Außerdem wird eine entsprechende Meldung angezeigt, die sich wie ein Wasserzeichen über die untere rechte Ecke des Desktops legt.

Ehrliche Anwender haben natürlich nichts zu befürchten und können ihr System wie gewohnt nutzen.
